Publish Asia
Novotel Singapore On Stevens, Singapore
7th May 2019

If you’re a science, health or consumer affairs editor or journalist, you’re invited to attend a complimentary masterclass by the World Editors Forum in Singapore on May 7 called “Science in the Newsroom: Keeping the Facts Straight”. It is an interactive workshop to tackle the specific challenges around science and health journalism, identify credible and reliable sources of medical and scientific information and how to debunk hoaxes, and develop workflows for fast, accurate and engaging reporting. This is the second and final run of this masterclass which was first held in London last October at the British Library.

This masterclass will come with full access to Publish Asia/Newsroom Summit Asia taking place at the same hotel venue, Novotel Singapore on Stevens, on May 8-9. The conference programme, which is being continually updated, is available here. Participants will have to make their own travel and accommodation arrangements to Singapore.

Masterclass applicants will have to satisfy the following criteria and submit links to 2 recent samples of their work. Priority will be given to science, health or consumer affairs journalists of at least 3 years’ experience and news editors.

Eligible attendees will receive complimentary admission to the Publish Asia/Newsroom Summit Asia conference on 8-9 May. Attendees must attend this full-day masterclass on 7 May in order to receive conference admission.
